Cover of the Week

  1. Such a great cover that somehow or another the book has now been added to my wishlist! Not that I’d ever be so shallow as to judge a book by its cover, of course… 😉

    • I do not judge books by their cover either, but the cover art is the face of the book. So an impactful cover will certainly be the primary reason why someone will get initially attracted to the book.

I am glad you added the book to your wishlist. Though I have not read it, Poul Anderson is a safe bet 🙂

  2. This is why mooching the sci-fi and fantasy sections of second hand bookshops, there are so many eye catching covers that demand a look and they seem less mercenary than the covers today. It seems it was more art for the sake of art back then.

    • Right ho! when I was a kid, it was the covers that attracted me to pulp fiction. The cover art, these days, are not much compared to the vintage ones. Unfortunately, lot of stories do not match up to the outstanding covers, which is why it is not recommended to judge a book by its cover.
