Just seeing those book covers makes me want to read all day :).
You speak my mind. Wish it were a more leisurely world, without any rush and we had enough time to read.
I am in love with your site. Great Work!!!
Thank you 🙂
I recognise some of those covers… I must be vintage as well!
I’m glad that you liked the covers! There aren’t too many vintage cover art fans out there.
Love these covers!! Do you mind telling me where in India can I find these? I have been looking for them for years. Managed one or two orange penguin ones only 😦
Unfortunately, you’ll find it frustratingly hard to find these old penguins in India. Try used book stores. I mainly buy them from Amazon.com and ebay.com but the shipping costs are painful. Sometimes the books get lost in transit. It’s so agonizing.
Amazon.com has everything to be paid in dollars 😦 Just too bad.. Yes I tried one book store where I managed to find a green Penguin 🙂 Thank you!! Il try more
Btw would love to see a picture of your library 🙂
Thanks Ishita. I would love to share a picture of my humble collection 🙂
Just wow for the artist who did the Oz and Bram Stoker covers. I am just beginning to realize what a specific art form a book cover can be.
It is really a sublime art. You simply can’t get enough of it.
True classics indeed! Thanks for sharing:)
You are welcome. Yes, nothing like the Penguin Classics 🙂
